Research, Innovations and Clinical Vignettes – Scientific Abstract and Poster Competition

The Society of Hospital Medicine is accepting proposals for the 2020 Scientific Abstract and Poster Competition, known as Research, Innovations and Clinical Vignettes (RIV).

This is one of the most popular events at SHM’s Annual Conference, enabling hospitalists from across the country to discuss emerging scientific and clinical cases, share feedback and make valuable professional connections. Many cutting-edge abstracts that are first presented at SHM’s RIV sessions go on to be published in respected medical journals.

The competition features more than 1,700 applicants vying for approximately 1,000 poster spots. Plenary and oral sessions are chosen from the pool of abstracts prior to the meeting, and their authors are invited to present on-site at HM20.

Depending on the decision of the reviewers, your abstract could be selected for a poster, oral or plenary presentation. Before submitting your abstract, please download and carefully review the Abstract Guidelines and the Acknowledgement of Authorship and Responsibilities statements. You will be held accountable for understanding and adhering to the information contained in these resources.
